Here's my current project: an Epiphone Les Paul Goth that's totally "naked". When I first got this "reliced" guitar, there were no hardware or electrics on it... Luckily, that's what I like the most: customization!
Therefore, I installed:
- a new brass nut,
- 2 humbucker pickups: Bc rich neck pickup + Dimarzio/Ibz bridge pickup with "VCC" tone circuit(see older blog posts)
- new electrics(pots, caps, selector)
- GFS tuning keys
So what's left to be installed is a Korean-made LP bridge plus a set of GHS 0.10 strings!
The progress so far:

The progress so far:
Look almost exactly like my rebuilt Les Paul 100, except for the set neck, of course. I completely stripped it of all hardware and electronics, had the frets leveled and recrowned, installed a Graphtech nut and Sperzel- style locking tuners (had to enlarge the holes a bit), then wired it 50's style with braided wiring and CTS pots, Switchcraft switch and output jack, .47uF cap for the neck pickup (a GFS Mean-90), .22uF cap for the bridge pickup (Seymour Duncan SH-4), new bridge, and black speed knobs. She's a screamer, although I want to replace the tune-o-matic with a Gotoh bridge.
ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήNice mod Brian!
ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήI 'm sure the LP100 is now a totally different guitar! I also like the SH-4 JB pickup very much. Would you like to send a picture of your modified Epi?
Keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Thanos
Sure thing.

Totally unplayable at that stage. Frets were horrible, electronics were scratchy or didn't work at all, tuners were bad, nut was cracked, pickups sounded terrible.

With my modded sunburst Junior and Soundgear bass (better topside shot):
