80's style Bass!

 Here's my latest bass guitar project!

The story behind it:
 This P-bass was originally made by J&D(Jack & Danny Brothers) and it cost 110euros. It was a very nice bass even for this kind of money and it was finished in vintage ivory white. Then, someone wanted to diy paint it in olympic white, so he/she just sprayed it white without even sanding down the old clear coat off the body... The result: disaster... The paint didn't dry or settled on the body even after 6 months!
Let's fix it:
 So I took that P-bass body and applied a thick layer of paint stripper on it, using a paintbrush. The paint stripper is a nasty thick substance than can dissolve any paint/lacquer and it's really dangerous for us. So I was outdoors, wearing gloves, glasses, a small doctor's mask and old clothes while I applied the paint stripper on the body.
 When the paint stripper did its job, I took removed the much of the olympic white paint off the body with a blade knife and sandpaper. The body had still a few layers of the original ivory paint on it as the factory color is quite tough. So it was really difficult to remove all the paint and make it look perfect. I used some wood filler to cover up some dents and the body was in need of a new finish. So I thought I could build a Frankenstein evh 80's style bass using tapes and 2 spray cans(black & white).
"EVH" style paint-job:
 The evh paint concept is quite simple:  first you have to apply the base colour(white) on the body and let it dry. Then, you can put some tapes on the body and re-spray it with a different colour(black in this case). Once dry, remove the tapes and there it is! You can spray a few clear coats in the end if you like.
 For the finale, I did a bit of diy relic'ing on the body with a sandpaper, wired all the electrics, put the Wilkinson black bridge on and set up my new old-looking 80's bass!
