A parts-caster made in Athens!

Here's a new project for you! This guitar was made for a good friend of mine, Athina and it's a gothic style, metal-oriented stratocaster. The guitar has a mixture of vintage and modern specs such as a classic slim strat alder body, a classic 6 point tremolo plus an HSS pickup configuration.
The back of the neck is finished in satin black in order to be less "grippy" and more comfortable for the left hand.
The electronics are quite special: there's a 2 way switch, a master volume and a master tone. These are the switch positions: a) custom made Bridge humbucker, b) Middle and Neck SC pickup in series, wired as a humbucker! The b position sounds like the guitar has a neck humbucker and that's really cool for lead sounds. Plus, there's no hum!
The SC pickups are ceramic type rated at ~7kOhm and the bridge humbucker is something I put together. I bought an old Epiphone 12kOhm pickup, replaced the rusty baseplate and the old wires with new ones and then swapped the stock Alnico magnetic bar with a much hotter ceramic one.
The old semi-closed tuners were upgraded to grover-style Dixon and the old plastic nut was replaced with a graphite one to ensure the guitar stays in tune much longer.
Overall, the distorted guitar sounds are really good and the ceramic humbucker is really powerful. The clean sounds are bassy and a bit gibson-style because of the series wiring.
Rock on Athina!

Athina is a young talented artist and you can see some of her work here:
