80's Hohner Flying-V Devil !

Here's a rare 1980's guitar a friend brought in. It's a flying model called the "FV devil" and it was produced by Hohner guitars from 1985 to 1987. It's finished in black and it's still in a pretty good shape!

Here are its official specs according to the Hohner historical catalog:

Specs:
Type: Electric
Model: FV DEVIL
Year: 1985-1987
Body: Rosewood - Bridge: Tremolo - Pickups: Humbuckers - Pickup Configuration: H-H; Controls: vol/vol/tone; Colour: black with red binding
Price 495 DM (1985)

The guitar was sold for 495 Marks in 1985 which was something like 250 Euros. It's got a bolt-on 22 fret maple neck with closed type tuners and a 6-point modern tremolo system. There's also a set of Gibson style black "speed knobs", a classic 3-way pickup selector and a set of strap buttons at its bottom.

This particular guitar came in for inspection and pickup wiring. I tightened the tuners, removed the old rusty strings and cleaned up the fretboard a bit. Then, I checked the electronics. The stock electronics were in a good shape except the output jack that was rusty and broken. I replaced the jack, cleaned up the stock 500K pots and rewired them. A Seymour Duncan "Invader" humbucker was placed at the bridge position:

This 80's guitar devil is ready to rock again!

Here are a few pictures of the actual guitar:
