Here's a pretty rare and very expensive electric guitar a friend brought in. It's a Charvel Custom shop Grover Jackson Legacy, "Blood Splatter" limited edition guitar. It's made in the USA and it's basically a simplistic stratocaster guitar. It's got some pretty basic features(e.g. one humbucker and a vol. control) but the build quality is sky high and its tone is just amazing. This guitar came in for a setup and it really didn't need anything else to be honest. I really like the fact that it's got a single bridge humbucker and a volume knob. That's a true 80's era pickup configuration and it's what I mostly use when playing the guitar. The neck is very comfortable and the fretwork is excellent. The hardware is pretty basic. It doesn't have a Floyd Rose tremolo system like most of the 80's inspired super-strats but the hardware is of high quality. There are no tuning stability issues or any other issues really.
In the early 80ʻs, the crew at Charvel made a guitar that was white with red paint "splattered" across the front. The guitar was sold to a store in Los Angeles, and returned after one week on display. The store said that they received multiple complaints that the guitar was too "vulgar" to display. Now the original guitar is worth thousands of dollars! Today, as part of the Grover Jackson Legacy Series, Charvel brought the original crew together once again to HAND PAINT a very few of these guitars in the original red/ white motif, as well as several striking NEW colors. This specific collection will be limited in quantity and each guitar will come with a special certificate hand signed by Grover Jackson as well as Todd Krause, mike Shannon, and Mike Eldred all of which were the original employees of Charvel in the beginning and were part of the design and building of this historic reproduction. Each and every detail on these guitars was replicated and reproduced using original tooling and technique. Each instrument was hand painted by Grover Jackson, Mike Eldred, Todd Krause, and Mike Shannon, and also comes with a DVD and Limited Edition Certificate. Charvel and the distinctive headstock design commonly found on Charvel guitars are register trademark of FMIC under license to JCMI.
