The L-400 GoldTop guitar!

This is the Harley Benton L-400 GT Classic Series, Gold Top electric guitar!
I got it a few months ago and to be honest I wanted to buy this guitar since I've tested the L-400gt of a friend. This guitar has minimal features for a Les Paul. There's no binding, no glossy finish, no fancy  but the playability is so good and the satin finished neck is so comfortable.
It's go a solid basswood body (not "chambered" plywood or veneers here), a maple set-in neck and a Long-Tenon neck joint! I didn't expect that really! The long tenon neck joint is much more durable and stable and it provides for better mechanical sustain and acoustic resonance (good for these big long bends on your solo).

The neck has a rosewood fretboard (not a laminated, baked maple or anything like that) plus 22 medium frets and a pretty decent fret-job. It's got trapezoid inlays, a 628mm scale length, 43mm nut width, Double-Action truss-rod(Oh, yes!), C-shape neck profile, die-cast tulip Kluson-style tuners and decent chrome hardware.

The stock Ceramic humbucker pickups sound really good and punchy. They sound very close to the hotter Gibson and Epiphone pickups such as the 650R/700T set. So, there's plenty of kick and output for blues, rock and even heavy metal stuff. These pickups are not mild PAF style 'buckers. They are hot! For some, this is not a good thing but after all, isn't this why there's a volume control for each pickup?... It's got actually 2 volume and 2 tone 500Kohm pots and a classic LP style wiring.
The guitar is finished in satin dark clear except its bright golden top! The satin back of the neck feels really fast.

This guitar is basically in stock form although I took the time to replace the stock cream pickup rings for two black ones and removed the cream pick-guard. There was nothing wrong with them, I just wanted to modify the guitar just a little bit and these plastic parts were the only modification I would do... I wouldn't replace any other parts, this guitar is complete for me.
I also changed the stock strings for a new 9-42 coated set and set it up for low action and perfect intonation. This guitar is perfect, not just for the money (~ 110 Euros!). No wonder why it got 4.2 out of 5 stars rating (owner's reviews, see Thomann link below). It's a really good guitar once it's been properly set up.

The initial setup was way off but that's something I always expect when buying a new or used guitar these days. Guitarists, you have to learn how to properly set up your guitar(s)! It's really important and no guitar factory does it for you anymore. It's not cost-effective. Also, do not forget to stretch your new strings and run a pencil across the nut string slots. Your guitar will stay in tune for much longer!

The satin black finished model costs a bit less and it's available here:
