Here 's a superstrat Marlin (by Hohner) neck that came in recently. It was in a pretty bad shape as the headstock was broken. It was a clean cut but it needed lots of effort to mask the damage.
I first cleaned and glued the neck using a very strong tightbond epoxy glue. The neck was in one piece again but its looks were pretty damaged. So we decided to refinish the neck and give it a new look that would mask the marks of that nasty break.
Therefore, I sanded down the back and the headstock and covered the dents and missing bits with some maple wood filler. Then I sanded and sprayed the headstock matt white. The neck was finally finished with a satin clear coat. The result is very nice so the neck can and will be used in a future guitar project!
