I recently received a nice LTD H-50 guitar. It's finished in "black cherry" red and here are its official specs:
LTD H-50 Specifications:
• BOLT-ON CONSTRUCTION
• 25.5” SCALE
• AGATHIS BODY
• MAPLE NECK
• ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD
• DOT INLAYS
• ESP LH-100 PICKUPS
• VOLUME & TONE CONTROLS W/3-WAY TOGGLE
• BLACK HARDWARE
• TUNE-O-MATIC BRIDGE W/STOP TAILPIECE
• 22 XJ FRETS
The guitar was used and it had a few issues but I was confident I could make it play like new once again.
First, I got rid of the old rusty strings and cleaned the guitar thoroughly. The electronics were a mess so I rewired the guitar using the original pickups. I sprayed the pots and switch with some contact cleaner to ensure the guitar has no scratchy sounds.
Tuning and setup:
Once I tested all the electronics, it was time to string up the guitar and give it a good tune-up and setup. So, I put a new set of coated 0,009" strings on the guitar, adjusted the action, truss rod and intonation and I was amazed by the results.
This affordable low-range LTD model has nothing to envy. Its much more expensive brothers are at same level in terms of playability. I think this "made in Indonesia" horizon guitar is even more comfortable to play than an M.I.J. ESP eclipse-II that I recently set up and played...
Sounds:
The guitar sounds good too! Its ceramic humbucking pickups are hot and full of attack. It's definitely a shredder's guitar and the action came out pretty low with no fret buzz issues!
Verdict:
It's worth checking out these low-priced LTD series models as I think you can't really go wrong with these affordable yet decent electric guitars!
Here are a few pictures of the guitar:
