BC rich Warlock Neck-trough!

This is a BC rich Warlock Necktrough guitar. It's got a set of active EMG 81(bridge) and 85(neck) pickups and a floyd rose licensed tremolo. It's got a neck-through construction for extra mechanical note-sustain and easier fret access compared to bolt-on and set-in neck joints.

This guitar came in with a few classic electronic issues. The neck pickup didn't always produce sound even though the battery was new and the pots were a bit "scratchy" and they produced noises when turned. The first thing I did was to check the battery with a multimeter and it was healthy, produced around 9.4Volts. Then, I checked the wiring for broken cables or solder joints. Nothing there. The output jack was also wired correctly. I cleaned up the pots with some oil-free contact-cleaner spray. The scratchy noises where gone but the neck pickup would still not produce any sound. The pickup selector switch was my 1st suspect. If this was not the case, a neck pickup replacement would be a really expensive fix and it would be a shame. So, I un-soldered the switch and installed a new Korean-made one in place. I always use value for money quality replacement pots and switches as ultra cheap and really expensive ones are usually a waste of money for different reasons. The cheap switches have to be replaced all the time while the expensive pots and jacks tend to wear out over time as well. So, mid-priced quality replacement parts are the best for your guitar and your pocket.
The new toggle pickup selector fixed the problem. It's a win!
