Swap your pickups!
Did you know you can easily swap the neck and bridge active pickups of your guitar?
Yes, it's a pretty easy modification that will provide you with new tones. There are many active pickups out there and most of them are designed for both bridge and neck position. Many of them are compatible with EMG's "quick connect" wiring system. So, you don't even have to use the soldering iron for swapping your after-market active pickups, just a screw driver.
Steps:
1) remove the old strings,
2) undo the 4 bolts on each pickup ring,
3) disconnect the "quick cable connector" of the pickup but remember to note which side of the cable connector was facing up.(see an EMG installation manual for more info).
4) undo the 2 bolts that hold the pickup on its ring,
5) bolt the old "Neck" pickup and the 2 "Bridge" position springs on the "Bridge" position pickup ring and vice versa.
6) connect the cable connectors back on and
7) bolt the rings on the guitar body.
A fresh set of strings will then help you hear the difference!
Swapping active pickups is very easy to do even if the pickups are of different make. You can safely swap an EMG for a SD blackout or a Dragonfire pickup or basically any pickup which is compatible with the Emg "quick connector" cable pin out.
