Jackson Strat project

This is another Jackson/Fender style project. Here are the Jackson "rat rod" strat projects of the past:

This time however I had a Stratocaster style neck and a Jackson dinky style body. The body was finished in see-through wine red and it has a nice flamed maple top. The neck is a strat replacement neck finished in glossy lacquer. This is a chunky but comfortable neck with a 12" radius and a full C profile. It's got 22 medium frets and a bone nut.

The build:
At first, I installed all the electronics on the guitar. I used two ibanez single coil pickups wired in series and an older 498T Gibson humbucker. I used a 5-way pickup selector to get a few single coil and humbucking tones out of these pickups. The singlecoils sound like a neck humbucker when connected in series and that's something that gives you more tonal options. The volume is controlled by a 500K liner pot and the tone is controlled by a 500K log pot and a 22nF/100V capacitor.
Once all the electronics were wired up and tested, I placed the neck on the body. I had to widen the neck pocket a bit for the new neck to fit right in. Then, I bolted the neck on the body using four screw and a Jackson chrome neckplate. Once the neck and body were bolted together tightly, I installed a classic 6-point tremolo on the guitar. The body was designed for a two point tremolo but I decided to go for a classic 6-point assembly and use only two out of its six bolts. Time for a setup!
The guitar was setup in standard E tuning with a fresh set of coated 0,09" strings. The intonation was a bit off at first but I managed to set it right by adjusting the bridge and removing a few of its saddle springs.
The sound is just amazing. The Gibson humbucker sounds clear but powerful while the single coil pickups provide me with all the classic strat tones. This is a versatile guitar and it's perfect for solos and rhythmic playing. It's not an ultra thin shredding guitar but it's pretty playable.
Here are a few pictures of it:
