A good setup is all you need:
Once I got this guitar from "thomann.de", I set it up with a fresh set of 0,09" strings. The action was high and the intonation was all over the place once I got the guitar out of its box. Then, I adjusted the action, truss rod relief and intonation. I inspected the electronics too. Once the guitar was set up and tuned in E standard, I plugged it in. There were no dead spots or buzzing notes all over the fretboard. The tone was pretty good. Its stock ceramic pickups produce a nice range of harmonics and there's plenty of output on tap. The highs are pretty sweet and it's got some low end. Rolling down the 500K volume and tone knobs will get you down to blues rock territory.
